Monthly Photo Series - 11 Months

Now this is confusing because these pictures are yet again late. You can blame some hectic travel schedules on my lateness. So, this is from the month of JULY!

July was a fun month for Annie. She spent lots of time in the water - which was a somewhat new experience for her. We had such a cold June, that we didn't get IN the water much. In July, we took a few boat rides (she hated being in her life jacket - A LOT!), swam in her pool at the beach, swam at the beach, and splashed around on the deck too. Lots of splashing! Late in July we were at the Nick's birthday bash at the "swamp" (Adventure Island on the river) and I thought what the heck, I'll just let Annie get on the ground and if she wants to play in the sand she can, and if she wants to get in the water she can.

Holy smokes, that girl BOLTED over to the water and you couldn't keep her out! I wish I had more pictures of just how sandy she was - a MESS! So much fun though.

Month 11 (July) she talks a lot, crawls around like a maniac, and "cruises" along the furniture like a pro. She loves to see the puppy and nearly has a heart attack when she sees a cat! This month we also went to the zoo in Sioux Falls and Annie had a blast there also! She loved the goats! Her favorite things to eat are fresh cut-up green beans, watermelon, puffs, and noodles. Well, she actually loves just about anything she can get her grubby hands on!

Who me? 11 Months? Geez, I'm growing up!

We didn't get a lot of photos from this session. Most of it was spent doing this. Lots of cranking. Asking Grace for more goldfish!

Cutie cutie!

So much has changed with her since these 11 month photos. Like, she's walking! Welllllll running, actually!
I'll be back in a few weeks with the final post in this series. Can't believe this little cutie is going to be one this week! A year ago I couldn't wait for her to be here, now I'm sad that she's growing up!

My girls. There's one thing you gotta know about them. The way to their heart is through animals. Especially kitties. I mean, comeon' their Mother slept with a kitty blanket from the day they were conceived. Too much information....but it's in their blood. And yes, if you don't know me that well...I still sleep with a blanket, and it has cats all over it and I've had it ever since I can remember...and I don't go ANYWHERE without it.

For those of you that know didn't even have to read any of that garbage.

Grace. Kitties. Yes back onto the subject. While at Jena's farm Grace fell in love with about 12 cats. She wanted to put them all in her pocket and take them home.

I am just simply adoring these pictures of her loving up on these kitties.

Relaxing Weekend in MN

For a change of pace, we were able to head to Minnesota without having to rush off to another function, event, or have people at my Mom and Dad's. While I love it when we are able to see so many people in one visit, it's also nice to head over there and just relax and take it easy.

Those kind of weekends are filled with requests for Poppa to take Grace for a gator ride. Constantly. I'm not sure how much gator gas we went through! But Grace can drive the gator on her own now, so she thinks that's pretty fantastic. We were also able to get to my parents neighbors house, I used to nanny their kids. Each time we see them I am amazed that they aren't the size of my children anymore! Crazy!

This is what this girl lives for during our MN weekends.

Bean and veggie pickin' with Poppa.

This old cat Hank is such a lover. He's just an old barn cat that has been around since I was in middle school! Crazy! I love how you can see Remi in the picture about jealous for the attention!

 Fire and party lights!

We had a great time lounging around, sleeping in, going to church, doing a bit of browsing at stores, and just hanging out with the gorgeous weather!

Meeting Natalie Jo

When we went to Minnesota last weekend I was able to meet up with Jena and her new baby girl, Natalie Jo.

Natalie's mom Jena and I along with a girlfriend Hayley were great friends during high school and we've been fortunate enough to be able to stay in touch frequently. Unfortunately, we all live far away from each other so we don't get to see each other often. We try to get together in a middle point either at home or somewhere else at least once a year. Hayley had passed through Pierre in July on their way home from vacation so I was able to see her for a good chunk of time. We had then planned to all go back to Minnesota over the same weekend to get together and meet Jena's new baby. Well, I had the dates wrong and they were in Marshall a week earlier than when I was planning on going.

All was not lost. I had just seen Hayley and she met Annie for the first time. Then Jena was still in Marshall when we went there the next weekend - so we still got to meet her and she met Annie for the first time.

She's a beautiful baby girl. And Jena, of course, she's a wonderful mother and you can see for yourselves that she's just GLOWING. Beautiful! They are both doing great. So happy to snuggle her when she's still a baby! I didn't want to leave her! And I should have known better than to bring my baby-hog daughter and my mother along - I didn't want to share!

Baby lover!

This little one fell asleep in the car on the way. She stayed sleeping nearly the entire time until I made her wake up so she could be introduced!

Jena and Annie

I love both of these. I love that you can see Natalie better in the second and Grace has a better smile in the second...but Annie is lookin in the first!

Nothing is better to me than catching up with people I love. It was great to see Jena and her family and to meet their new little one! Annie loved their puppy and Grace had a great time enjoying the baby and the farm!

(P.S. - Jen - why can't we ever get a picture like this? Lame of us! All we have is us at Subway with kids crawling all over us! Probably because we brave Mom things on our own with all of the kids and never have an adult around to take a picture?!!! Sound typical.)

A Day in the Life

Wowzer. Hello! It's me, Annie.

I've been far too busy with baby duties to update this blog thing of Ma's. I already know she posts way too many photos on here already, and share way more information than any of you want to know. But she does it anyway. She says it keeps the Aunties, Grandma's and Nana's happy.

See me do this?

Apparently Mom and Dad get pretty excited about me standing on these feet things that God gave me to stand on. What the heck is so awesome about that? Well, anyway, I do a lot of standing up on my own without having to pull up. Cool, huh? I even have taken a bunch of steps in a row (which is also apparently scream worthy if you ask my Mom). But only when I want to.
Ya, when I want to. Cuz most of the time they try to make me walk on cue to show off my "new tricks" ....instead I'll just walk on my knees like this instead. Not scream worthy according to Mom. And I overheard Dad saying that if he got around this way he'd snap a knee. Loosen up old fella'!

PS - I love being outside. And see that pool (how could you not) in the backyard? Ya, I love that thing too. Floating is my favorite.

Another kind of fairy visited....

We've been having lots of visits from the fairies in the fairy garden...however, another kind of fairy showed up at our house last night. The tooth fairy!

Grace had been dealing with her adult tooth coming in behind her baby tooth for about a month, finally this week it was really starting to be loose. She wiggled it all night and ended up having some pain with it since she was working it so hard. She wouldn't let Mom or Dad pull it out! Cody and I left on date night (hasn't happened in YEARS), and Grandma and Grandpa were in town so they stayed with the girls.

Halfway through dinner we got the notice that her tooth came out! Grandma may or may not have jerked it out of there! :) She know Grace would feel better once it was out - and she was right!

Grace left her tooth in a jar (which was not fully sealed) above her head because she wasn't comfy with it under her pillow (sounds so typical of her!!!)....when she woke in the morning...

The tooth was gone! There was glitter in the jar and they left and envelope with a note and money!

Apparently even the garden fairies saw the tooth fairy! She must not have been very sneaky! :)
