Summer Lovin'

Summer feels like it's coming to a close. Last week was in the 70s and mid 80s and it felt like fall! This week we've seen some 90 degree weather again, but we're looking forward to soaking in the rest of summer.

August happens to be one of my favorite months of the year. Hot summer days in the beginning of August and fall-ish weather toward the end of the month. Those things are great, but perhaps the best thing about August is all of the produce fresh from the garden.

Last night we enjoyed BLT's, sweet corn, and peaches - yumo! I think this is the first year that G has really fallen in love with sweet corn. I remember her eating it last year - but not devouring it.

And another great thing about August? It's rodeo and fair season. Here we are at the Onida Catfish Stampede last weekend. We love to cheer on the cowboys and cowgirls. Muttonbusting last weekend was hilarious too! Grace is pretty intriqued, she might try next year. For now, she's content on horseback. However, she did state that she didn't want to do any bareback bronc riding. She didn't like those horses.
